The NHS and Public Health England are introducing a new campaign – “Help Us, Help You” – to help make it easier for the public to understand the things they can do to manage their own health and get the best out of the NHS.

We all know that the NHS can be especially busy during the winter months, and everyone can benefit by following the expert advice of NHS staff to help the NHS help people to stay well; to prevent an illness getting worse; to take the best course of action; and get well again sooner.

For example, you can ask a pharmacist for advice before minor ailments or winter illnesses get worse. Or if you’ve been putting off going to the GP because you’re too busy, you can now book an evening or weekend appointment. Making sure you get a flu jab if you’re eligible for a free vaccine can also help you stay well over the winter months, while knowing to call NHS 111 if you think you need medical attention urgently but it’s not an emergency, can make sure you get the best NHS service for your health need.

Help Us, Help You.
