Your career

I have worked in healthcare for 39 years. I am a registered nurse with an acute care background and have been in education focussed roles for a number of years. I have amassed numerous skills and experiences throughout my career which I can draw on to ensure I am able to deliver in the governor role. I bring a genuine interest in communicating with all groups of colleagues, a natural curiosity, a practical common-sense approach, and a great sense of humour!

When did you become a governor?

Term: My three-year term commenced in November 2021

Current term ends: My current term will end in October 2024

Why did you choose to become a governor?

I became a governor as I feel it is essential for a high-performing Community Interest Company (CIC) that its workforce has engagement, has a voice, has a conduit to the Board, and can influence developments. Every one of our members is vital in shaping Provide as an employee-owned organisation. The governor’s role supports colleagues to express their views, ask questions of the Board and help in the delivery of services and upholding values.

What do you hope to achieve during your time as a governor?

I hope to ensure that the voices of our colleagues are heard and can influence and help build our organisation’s sustainability for the future.

Any interesting facts about you? E.g. hobbies, passions, interests

I’m interested in history and love wandering around stately homes or castles and the gardens. I also love a walk along the beach – my happy place 😊
