Provide Community is pleased to announce that it will be donating a share of £120,000 to a selection of 30 Essex-based charities and community groups.

Colleagues at Provide Community were asked to nominate local charities that they believed deserved a special donation from a £120,000 funding pot. The difficult task of creating a shortlist from the floods of incoming nominations fell to Provide’s Council of Governors, who took many hours of careful consideration to whittle them down to a final list of 30 chosen charities.

The organisation plans to send the colleague who nominated each shortlisted charity to deliver the donation cheques from Provide Community in person. As a Community Interest Company that prides itself on care and compassion, Provide is eager to continue supporting local communities in any way it can- having donated over three million pounds in funding and match funding to charities and organisations over the last ten years alone.

Mark Heasman, who is the Group Chief Executive Director of Provide, said; “As a social enterprise, supporting the hard work of local charities and investing in the communities we serve is core to our mission. It is an important reminder that our organisation’s values of care and compassion are best reflected through our colleagues.”

Nicola Yarnell, Chair of the Council of Governors, said; “As Chair of the Council of Governors, I feel extremely privileged to be representing our members and playing a role in the team that decides where this phase of charitable giving will go. Being an employee-owned Community Interest Company enables us to go above and beyond our normal health and social care role, and seeing the impact of that is truly heartening.”
