In November NHS England launched a call for expressions of interest for the NHS England Provider Collaboratives Innovator Scheme, whereby NHS England would look to work with nine collaboratives to help accelerate their development and the benefits they can deliver for patients.
Mid and South Essex Community Collaborative, a partnership between Essex Partnership University Trust (EPUT), North East London Foundation Trust (NELFT) and Provide Community Interest Company (Provide), was selected as one of the nine Provider Collaboratives to take part in the first cohort of the scheme. Find out more about the Mid and South Essex Community Collaborative (MSECC).
Provider Collaboratives continue to demonstrate the benefits they bring to service users and patients. By working together, more can be achieved including equitable access to health and care and developing and supporting working environments for staff.
The purpose of the scheme:
• To support and accelerate the development of collaboratives so that patients across the country can benefit
• NHSE will co-design with each collaborative, the support and expertise they would most value from NHS England to deliver their locally agreed priorities for delivering benefits for patients
Paul Scott, Chief Executive of EPUT said: “Our involvement in the Mid and South Essex Community Collaborative is at the forefront of our efforts to form closer partnerships and transform services for the benefit of our patients and staff.
“Being selected for the Provider Collaboratives Innovators scheme recognises just how much progress the Mid and South Essex Community Collaborative has already made, and the potential that partnership working has to transform services for years to come.
“We’re excited to strengthen our existing partnerships and help shape understanding and guidance around provider collaboratives, not just locally but on a national scale.”
Jacqui Van Rossum, Acting Chief Executive of NELFT said: “Working together with other providers on this innovative programme, will not only allow us to deliver our ambitious targets faster, but it will also enable us to provide better care to all our patients.”
Mark Heasman, Chief Executive of Provide said: “Mark Heasman, Chief Executive of Provide said: “It is a fantastic achievement to be selected as only one of nine Provider Collaboratives in the country, and it gives staff and our partners confidence that the hard work is paying off for our population.
I am looking forward to supporting the co-design of the scheme and the benefits it will bring to our organisations, further cementing our partnership and relationship with colleagues across mid and south Essex.”
