Voluntary and community groups in Essex who need a funding boost for health-related projects are being offered thousands of pounds.

The money is being given by the Provide Foundation, which was established with the independent charitable trust Essex Community Foundation (ECF) in 2013.

The aim of the funding programme, which offers grants of up to £5,000, is to help people to have better access to community health and care services by supporting voluntary and community organisations working across Essex.

Last year’s recipients received a total of £90,000 for a range of activities, including respite for carers, a healthy eating programme for young people, and an activity club for children with disabilities.

John Niland, Chief Executive of Provide said:

“By working with the Essex Community Foundation, we are able to effectively offer funds to voluntary and community organisations whose work complements that of Provide.

“Our organisation is pleased to be able to offer these grants to enable this vital work to continue and grow.”

The closing date for applications is 20 October 2017.  More information is available from the ECF website.
