GP and Pharmacy Support for North and Mid Essex

Your career

Before working for the NHS, I had a career in the Sports and Leisure industry and studied for a BA (Hons) in Sports Business Management. I have worked within the CVD Primary Prevention NHS Health Checks Team since 2015. I started as a Casual Health Check worker delivering NHS Health Checks in the community on the Outreach Mobile Units. I then spent 2 years as the Point of Care Testing (POCT) support whose main duty was to ensure all the cholesterol machines used within the GP surgeries in Essex were calibrated monthly to ensure they gave accurate readings. I am now the GP and Pharmacy Support for North and Mid Essex, working with the GPs and Pharmacies to help them deliver the NHS Health Check programme, and helping them to reach their delivery and invite target.

When did you become a governor?

I became a governor after the AMM in 2021

Why did you choose to become a governor?

I have worked for Provide since April 2021 when my team was moved across from ACE. Whilst I was at ACE, I was part of the Members Council which was the equivalent of a governor. I feel that I will be able to use my experience gained to help represent any views and questions to our board. I enjoy being part of the decision-making process and being able to express the views and input of my colleagues.

What do you hope to achieve during your time as a governor?

During my time as a governor, one of my main goals is to help all members have their voices heard, I feel I am a friendly approachable individual.
