We are delighted to announce our success in winning the Business to Business award category at the prestigious Essex Countywide Business Awards 2024, on Tuesday 3 December 2024. The accolade recognises the organisation’s outstanding Essex Working Well initiative, delivered as part of the Essex Wellbeing Service, commissioned by Essex County Council.
Essex Working Well is a unique service commissioned by Essex County Council and delivered by Provide Community. The Essex Working Well initiative, launched in 2022, provides Essex-based businesses with free workplace health and wellbeing training, support, and services. The service’s framework includes a Working Well Accreditation and three core funded programmes: the Mental Health Aware Programme, the Small Business Workplace Wellbeing Award, and Mental Health First Aid England Training. The services are not only free but are also achievable, measurable, and accountable.
We are an employee owned, Community Interest Company who are a core provider of Essex-based NHS and social care services, able to draw on a unique insight into individuals’ and companies’ evolving health and social needs. Guided by the vision of Transforming Lives through Care, Innovation and Compassion, we strive to make a positive and lasting difference to the communities we serve.
In our submission for the Business to Business award for Essex Working Well, we showcased our successful partnerships with other organisations, our ability to continually introduce new services, and our agility in responding to evolving health and wellbeing challenges. This combination of qualities has not only driven this remarkable achievement, but also positions the services to continue innovating and adapting to future needs.
Councillor John Spence, Cabinet Member for Health, Social Care and Integration at Essex County Council, said: “This is a fantastic achievement by a fantastic team. Essex Working Well provides vital training and support to organisations across the county as a welcome extension of the Essex Wellbeing Service. I am pleased to see the people behind it get the recognition they deserve.”
In addition to this award win, we proudly sponsored the Youth Entrepreneur of the Year (Under 18s) award category, further underscoring their commitment to supporting future generations. Michelle Parker, Director for Strategic Partnerships at Provide Community, who represented Provide Community as a judge, presented this award to Adam, a remarkable 10-year-old entrepreneur and founder of Adam’s Rice Pudding. Adam’s initiative, dedicated to making and sharing the warmth of rice pudding with those experiencing food insecurity, was a highlight of the ceremony.
Commenting on the celebration, Michelle Parker said: “Winning the Business to Business award for Essex Working Well is a proud moment for everyone at Provide Community. This recognition underscores our commitment to creating meaningful impacts for businesses and communities across Essex and this award will undoubtedly help us to raise the profile of Essex Working Well, enabling us to reach even more businesses in the future.
“I would like to thank Essex County Council, who commission Essex Wellbeing Service and our amazing team and partners for their hard work and commitment to this pioneering initiative.
“It was also a privilege to sponsor and present the Youth Entrepreneur of the Year award to Adam, whose passion and dedication at just 10 years old is truly inspiring. We are thrilled to support initiatives that showcase the incredible talent and compassion of young people in our region.”
