Provide Community is delighted to announce that Essex Dementia Care Service has recently received a share of £30,000 from a bumper funding pot of £70,000.
Founded in 2006, Essex Dementia Care was created by a group of locals who were eager to establish an open dialogue about dementia. After meeting with senior representatives from Essex County Council, it was agreed that an independent community was needed to support those living with dementia.
17 years after its inception, Essex Dementia Care has now gone on to help thousands of people living with dementia across Bradwell, Braintree, Chelmsford and Sandon Chelmsford to maintain an active and social lifestyle.
The charity offers specialised One2One services tailored for each individual’s personality and needs, enabling them to maintain a sense of well-being and independence for as long as possible. Operating across two different groups catering to different stages of dementia, the charity’s ‘Every Day Counts’ and ‘Oasis’ groups are available across North Essex.
Kelly Bleasdale, Senior Manager for Dementia Care said: “We are so grateful that Essex Dementia Care was chosen to receive the grant. Part of the funding will go towards our Care Manager’s salary, who plays a pivotal role in ensuring that our clients receive the best, most personalised activity-based dementia care available.
“We were delighted when we were advised that we had been successful. This grant will go a long way in ensuring that our clients and loved ones continue to receive the activity-based support they need to remain independent and maintain a good quality of life.”
The grant gifted to Essex Dementia Care was part of a new year bumper pot of funding in which three charities received a share from a pot of £70,000.
