Michaela Clark, Angie Story, Claire Buckley, and Liz Machin have been working as healthcare support workers in Provide for a number of years.

In January 2016, they all gained places on the ‘Work-Based Learning Nursing Degree Programme’ at the University of Essex. This is a fast-track programme for healthcare support staff, and they all completed and achieved their degree qualifications in November 2017.

Now that their registrations with the Nursing and Midwifery Council have been completed they are able to work as staff nurses.

John Niland, Chief Executive of Provide said:

“My congratulations to Michaela, Angie, Claire and Liz who are the first of Provide’s healthcare support workers to graduate as qualified nurses with this scheme.

“From talking to them, I know that the course was really hard work and requires a lot of commitment. We are fortunate that they have all chosen to remain with Provide and working as community staff nurses in the Braintree and Chelmsford areas.”
