Provide Digital, part of the Provide Community Group, has donated an Amazon Kindle Scribe to support women in the local community, following a recent prize draw.

The prize draw was open to individuals who took part in a demo or consultation before the end of November. While a winner was selected, they chose to remain anonymous and generously asked for the prize to be donated to al women’s refuge local to Provide Community’s headquarters in Colchester, Essex.

The Next Chapter was chosen as the charity that would particularly benefit from the donation, recognising the vital support they provide women in Essex, fulfilling the wish of the prize draw winner.

Mark Heasman, Group Executive Officer at Provide Community, said: “We were genuinely humbled by the generosity shown by the prize draw winner in choosing to donate their prize to support women in our local community. At Provide Digital, and the wider Provide Community Group, being able to play a small part in supporting the important work of Next Chapter means a great deal to us, and we hope this donation makes a positive difference.”

Jo Harbrow-Harris, Business Operations Manager at Next Chapter, said: “We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of the Provide Digital’s prize draw winner for choosing to forward this Amazon Kindle Scribe to Next Chapter, and to Provide Digital for honouring this request so promptly during the Christmas season.

“For a woman in refuge, navigating the complexities of the journey ahead, the Kindle represents more than a tool for reading. It can offer an escape from the day-to-day, a way to live vicariously through different characters and worlds, and a way to learn about new topics and skills. The added benefit of the Amazon Kindle Scribe in particular is that is also doubles as a way to journal and draw, promoting creativity and expression within a password-protected digital space.”

This gesture reflects the Provide Community Group’s ongoing commitment to supporting local organisations and making a positive difference within the communities it serves.
